HISTORY OF ANANDA KUTIR ASHRAMA
The spiritual lineage of Ananda Kutir begins with the 20th Century Saint H.H. Sri Swami Sivananda Maharaj, who significantly contributed to the world-wide dissemination of Yoga by teaching Integral Yoga.

One of his foremost disciples, Sri Swami Venkatesananda, regularly visited South Africa and it was through his inspiration and guidance that Mother Yogeshwari began teaching Integral Yoga in 1967. In 1982 Sri Yogeshwari together with Swami Parvathiananda and a group of inspired friends formally established Ananda Kutir Ashrama.

The seal in the Ananda Kutir Ashrama logo combines the symbols of all religions into one symbol of unity. Designed by L. Zahn for Swami Venkatesananda.
